I Remember A Time

I remember a time while out walking in my town, i would see everywhere people stood still deep in conversation with each other, often quite animated. All i see now while out and about be it in the town or in our beautiful park or countryside are people staring at their smartphones.  Smartphones can be useful for researching facts or statistics etc., or for contacting friends and family, however social media scrolling can become habitual which can lead to real problems especially among the young.

A prime example of this would be online bullying and taking what is said personally, which could be constant and demoralising. Up to the age of around 8 years (much later for some) we as humans have not yet developed our critical faculty, that is to say we cannot analyse or reason what has happened or what has ben sai, especially when confronted with criticism however constructive it may be.

Taking things personally this way erodes self confidence, self esteem, resilience and promotes limiting beliefs such as hopelessness, poor coping skills, poor social skills, i’m not good enough etc.

Life is far too short to continue like this so get in touch and get your life back on track.
